About The Position

Certifications : BLS, ARRT (MRI)

Must-Have :

• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
• ARRT (MRI) Certification

Description :

Under general supervision and according to established policies and procedures, performs diagnostic MR exams utilizing appropriate imaging equipment and techniques.

Follows the philosophy of Patient and Family Centered Care at all times.

Verifies patient identification and physician orders, and performs quality MR Scans.

Provides procedural information and education to patients and families prior to each exam.

Acquires an accurate patient history and documents it in the medical record.

Places IVs as required for the injection of contrast media.

Performs procedures according to MR protocol.

Ensures MRI safety forms are completed by the patient, designee, or floor RN and reviews the information with the patient or designee immediately prior to the patient entering the MRI scanning room.

Safely and proficiently operates MR imaging equipment and monitors patients during examinations to ensure their safety while in the MR Suite.

Performs MRI and related patient care procedures using age-appropriate methods for patients' physical abilities and limitations.

Ensures equipment is wiped down between patients, and the exam room is clean and properly stocked with linen and supplies.

Uses effective inter and intra-departmental communication and participation with medical staff, management, technical, and support staff.

Accurately and efficiently uses hospital computer systems for verifying orders, viewing schedules, and sending information to the PACS.

Physical demands include occasional light weight lifting and frequent standing and walking.

Core responsibilities also involve ensuring patient safety and maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
