About The Position

Bring your NICU expertise to Syracuse, NY this August!

A top-tier Level III NICU  is seeking an experienced  Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP)  for weekend  locum tenens coverage , offering  competitive pay, paid travel & lodging, and full malpractice coverage.

🗓  Assignment Details :

Start Date :  Mid-August 2025

Schedule :  12- and / or 24-hour weekend shifts

Shift Focus :  NICU (Level III) + Well-Baby nursery (nights only)

Unit Size :  16-bed NICU

Avg. Admissions :  0–2 per shift

Avg. Census :  8–9 patients

EMR :  EPIC

🩺  Key Responsibilities :

Provide direct patient care in a  Level III NICU

Attend  C-sections and deliveries

Manage  ventilation (ETT, CPAP, BiPAP), chest tubes, UVC / UAC, LPs, taps

Supervise RNs and support staff (no NNP oversight)

Collaborate with on-site neonatologists (daytime) and 24 / 7 call support

No transport responsibilities  – transfers managed by nearby Level IV NICU

💰  Compensation & Benefits :

Pay Rate :  $140 / hour

Malpractice coverage included

Complimentary travel, lodging, and rental car provided

✅  Requirements : Board-Certified NNP

Active NY license

Must be confident in  independent NICU patient management

Must be able to perform  core NICU procedures

Comfortable with both NICU and Well-Baby coverage
