Salary : Job Summary

We're seeking a highly organized and reliable individual to join our HVAC Service Department team as a Shop Assistant & Delivery Driver. This crucial role supports our field technicians by ensuring they have the right tools and parts when needed. The primary responsibilities include maintaining an organized shop area, managing inventory of tools and materials, and performing local deliveries to job sites. Key Responsibilities

Shop Organization & Management (Approx. 60%)

  • Maintain and organize the shop's tools, equipment, and material storage areas to ensure a clean, safe, and efficient workspace.
  • Track and manage inventory of commonly used tools, consumables, and department materials. Alert the appropriate staff when stock is low.
  • Coordinate tool check-in / check-out procedures and ensure all equipment is returned and properly stored.
  • Perform light maintenance and cleaning of tools and shop equipment as needed.
  • Assist with receiving and stocking incoming materials and parts.

Delivery & Logistics (Approx. 40%)

  • Perform timely and accurate deliveries of parts, tools, and equipment to HVAC job sites within the local service area.
  • Load and unload company vehicles safely and efficiently.
  • Serve as a positive and professional representative of the company when interacting with field technicians and customers on-site.
  • Assist in running parts and supply errands to local vendors.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and basic maintenance schedule of the department delivery vehicle.

    • Qualifications & Skills

  • Prior experience in a warehouse, shop, or similar organizational role is preferred.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and have a clean driving record.
  • Proven ability to work independently and manage time effectively to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent organizational skills and a strong attention to detail.
  • Basic knowledge of tools and equipment is a plus, especially within the trades (HVAC experience not required).
  • Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 50 lbs.) and work in a physically demanding environment.
  • Strong verbal communication skills.
