Founding Engineer (Open Source Focus)

Location : On-site in Downtown San Francisco

Compensation : $150,000 - $200,000 + 0.5% - 2.0% equity

About the Role

We're looking for our first Founding Engineer to help build the future of infrastructure tooling with us in San Francisco. As a critical early hire, you'll own our product end-to-end-from frontend interfaces and backend APIs to infrastructure, CLIs, and open-source tooling. If you're excited about shaping developer experiences and building with and for the community, this role is for you.

This position is deeply technical and product-focused. You will play a pivotal role in shaping both our open-source and commercial offerings and working closely with the founding team to define the product roadmap.

What You'll Work On

• Build and scale our core open-source infrastructure automation tooling (currently the highest priority).
• Own the development and architecture of end-to-end product features across our stack : React, TypeScript, Go , and various DevOps tooling.
• Triage and resolve issues raised by our growing OSS community.
• Collaborate with users and contributors to ensure the product meets real-world developer and infrastructure engineer needs.
• Help define engineering culture, best practices, and internal processes.
• Contribute to or lead high-impact initiatives such as new product lines, performance optimizations, and integrations with tools like Terraform, Kubernetes, and AWS .
