Department : Planning & Scheduling

Salary : $75,000 - $80,000

FLSA Status : Exempt

Reports To : Planning Manager, PMO

Location : San Diego, CA

US Citizenship Required.

About the Role :

Trident Maritime Systems is seeking a Detail Planner / Scheduler to support shipbuilding programs for government and commercial vessels. This position develops and maintains detailed project schedules and work packages while coordinating with engineering, production, supply chain, and program management teams.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Develop and maintain detailed work package plans aligned with shipbuilding milestones.
  • Coordinate with internal departments to validate scope, duration, and dependencies.
  • Perform schedule updates, variance analysis, and progress reporting.
  • Identify planning risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
  • Support proposal efforts and assist with developing project standards and best practices.
  • Revise production schedules as needed due to design or material changes.
  • Maintain accurate data in planning systems and support earned value management.

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and 3 5 years of planning / scheduling experience.
  • Experience in the maritime or shipbuilding industry required.
  • Proficiency in Primavera P6 and Microsoft Excel (2+ years minimum).
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to interpret drawings, data, and technical documentation.
  • Preferred Experience :

  • Knowledge of EVMS and KPI integration.
  • Familiarity with Autodesk software (Navisworks, DWG TrueView).
