Complete Description : The Georgia Department of Corrections (GDC) is seeking a Business Analyst with experience analyzing farming operations and financial reporting for the Georgia Correctional Industries (GCI) division. GCI manages multiple farms raising livestock, row crops, and vegetables to provide meals for inmates and generate sales to support farming operations. The successful candidate will analyze current farming operations and farm management software solutions, aiming to identify and develop recommendations for software that efficiently tracks and reports management data, supporting effective farm management decisions. The software may also handle accounting and financial reporting for farming activities.
Position Requirements :
Strong analytical skills and ability to document process flows and information requirements related to farming operations, including livestock, forage, feed, row crop, and vegetable production.Data collection and analysis for crop and forage management, including soil sampling, fertilization, planting, pesticide application, yield results, sales, and inventory management.Livestock management analysis, including pasture management, breed records, gestation history, animal measurements, sales results, and inventory management.Document data elements and recordkeeping requirements to meet FASB and GASB standards.Assist in reviewing and analyzing farm management software options to develop purchase recommendations.Organize and lead meetings, document process flows, and develop presentations and reports.Position Qualifications :
Bachelor's Degree in business or related field.Minimum of three years' experience reviewing and documenting business processes, and identifying data elements for financial and management control.Excellent written and verbal communication skills; experience facilitating process review work teams.Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritize tasks to meet project deadlines.Proficiency in Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint, and financial software packages.Highly organized, detail-oriented, with a strong work ethic and teamwork skills.Ability to work independently and effectively.All information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.
