Description :
Reporting to the Assistant Dean for Medical Education Administration, the Testing Manager collaborates with associate and assistant deans, Integrated Learning and Clinical Experiences teams, Educational Data and Analytics staff, course directors, and faculty to manage, plan, and implement all aspects of exam and assessment creation, administration, and post-exam activities. The position requires availability for occasional early mornings, evenings, or weekend hours in support of strategic priorities and academic activities.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to :
- Collaborates with faculty and course directors to collect, organize, and review test questions for all School of Medicine (SOM) courses and curricular components.
- Manages all aspects of exam administration, including scheduling, reviews, practice exams, make-up exams, and re-assessments.
- Oversees computer-based exam systems (ExamSoft and NBME), including uploading, configuring, and ensuring proper functionality of exams.
- Collaborates with faculty to create customized assessments and order clinical subject exams through the NBME portal.
- Schedules and coordinates exam dates, times, and locations using 25Live scheduling software.
- Coordinates and administers clinical skills exams at the Northwell Health Center for Learning and Innovation (CLI), managing logistics, scheduling, and communication with staff and standardized patients.
- Collaborates with Integrated Learning, Clinical Experiences, and Educational Data and Analytics teams to streamline exam support and develop efficient assessment workflows.
- Ensures the integrity and security of exam environments in accordance with School of Medicine policies.
- Provides and coordinates technical support for faculty, students, and exam proctors during exam creation, administration, and post-exam review.
- Manages the recruitment, hiring, scheduling, and training of part-time exam proctors at the School of Medicine.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree in education, public administration, organizational development, healthcare administration, or a related field required.Minimum of two years’ experience supporting strategic initiatives, compliance, or project coordination in a higher education or healthcare environment.Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects with accuracy and attention to detail.Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messaging for diverse audiences.Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a proactive, adaptable approach to problem-solving.High level of professionalism, judgment, discretion, and confidentiality.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with project management tools, Qualtrics, design software (Canva, Venngage, Adobe), and Zoom preferred.Commitment to the mission, intellectual curiosity, and dedication to continuous learning and improvement.Preferred Qualifications :
Master’s degree in higher education administration, public health, organizational development, or a related field preferred.Experience in medical education or health professions settings, with knowledge of institutional governance structures is a plus.Experience supporting strategic planning or institutional effectiveness initiatives from creation through evaluation.Experience developing communications and educational materials for institutional initiatives.Proficiency with project management platforms (e.g., Asana, Monday.com, Smartsheet) and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).Deadline : Open Until Filled
