License : NYS RN Licensure Required

Certifications : BLS, ACLS Required

Must-Have : One (1) Year Experience serving in Med / Surg Environment as a Registered Nurse

Description :

The Registered Nurse applies knowledge of nursing theory, technical skills, and communication skills in delivering high-quality compassionate care to patients and families.

The RN assesses patient needs and develops a plan of care in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.

The RN provides direct care, evaluates patient progress, and coordinates the care delivery throughout the patient’s episode.

The Med / Surg RN develops specialized skills in the area of cardiac care, including telemetry monitoring.

The RN is accountable for patient and family education to assist in understanding self-care beyond hospitalization, including lifestyle changes to support health and healing.

He / She promotes comfort and provides emotional support in a healing environment.

The RN systematically evaluates the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice and uses the results of quality improvement activities to initiate changes in individual practice and influence care delivery.

The RN engages in self-evaluation of practice, identifying strengths and areas for professional development, and takes accountability to increase knowledge and enhance skills.

The RN demonstrates skill in the application of nursing interventions, including medication administration.

The RN motivates the patient and family by teaching them what is needed to continue care and healing at home.

The RN assesses patient and family learning styles and structures sessions to maximize understanding.

The RN seeks teachable moments during the care delivery process to emphasize pertinent information.

The RN encourages trust, respect, and cooperation among team members to promote collaboration for the best possible patient outcome.

The RN complies with infection prevention strategies and maintains competencies required to care for the specific population assigned.

The RN promotes leadership awareness and fosters positive change.
