OVERVIEW

The Senior Director of IT, Infrastructure & Security is a forward-thinking technology leader responsible for shaping and executing Cavender’s enterprise infrastructure and security strategy. This role will oversee all aspects of IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, and network operations while driving long-term technology alignment with company objectives. The ideal candidate will bring a blend of strategic vision, operational excellence, and strong business acumen, serving as a trusted partner to senior leadership and cross-functional teams. They will ensure the integrity, scalability, and performance of Cavender’s technology ecosystem to support a growing omnichannel retail organization.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Support the “Cavender’s Culture” and drive the Mission, Vision and Values.
  • Develop and lead a multi-year IT infrastructure and security strategy aligned with Cavender’s business growth, retail operations, and digital transformation goals.
  • Collaborate closely with the Director of IT, Security, Network & Infrastructure to ensure flawless execution of strategic initiatives and the day-to-day reliability of systems and networks.
  • Partner cross-functionally with leaders across Operations, Finance, Merchandising, eCommerce, and Store Development to deliver scalable, secure, and business-driven technology solutions.
  • Oversee the design, performance, and modernization of Cavender’s infrastructure across network, cloud, servers, and end-user computing environments.
  • Oversee the design, performance, and modernization of Cavender’s Helpdesk functionality and service delivery.
  • Advance Cavender’s cybersecurity posture by ensuring proactive risk management, compliance with security frameworks, and the protection of company and customer data.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to executive leadership, translating complex technical issues into business language and guiding high-impact technology decisions.
  • Drive enterprise initiatives around business continuity, disaster recovery, and infrastructure resilience.
  • Lead and inspire high-performing technical teams, fostering accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement across the IT organization.
  • Build and maintain strong vendor and partner relationships, negotiating strategic agreements that maximize value and align with Cavender’s long-term technology goals.
  • Establish governance frameworks that ensure compliance with regulatory and industry standards such as PCI, NIST, GDPR, and HIPAA.
  • Develop and manage technology budgets, ensuring responsible allocation of resources and alignment with corporate priorities.

QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive IT leadership experience, with at least 5 years in senior-level infrastructure and security roles.
  • Proven success in developing and executing enterprise technology strategies that drive measurable business outcomes.
  • Strong understanding of IT governance, cybersecurity frameworks, and cloud-based infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or equivalent).
  • Demonstrated ability to lead through collaboration and influence, particularly across matrixed business functions.
  • Experience managing technology in a multi-site retail or consumer goods environment preferred.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and executive presentation skills.
  • Ability to travel up to 15%.
  • Preferred Skills :

  • Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CCNP, or ITIL strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated success leading technology modernization and digital transformation efforts.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to balance long-term vision and short-term execution.
  • Strong vendor management, negotiation, and project governance capabilities.
