American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Critical Care Float Pool position in a Level 1 trauma center, requiring a current CA RN license and strong ICU and step-down skills.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in a hospital setting as part of the Critical Care Float PoolFloat to ICU and step-down level units, including ED and PACU admit hold areasNight shifts, 3x12 hours from 19 : 00 to 07 : 00Level 1 trauma center environmentMust float among units within the critical care divisionUses Epic EMR system; experience requiredManage patients with complex diagnoses including CVA, post-cardiac surgery, post-neurosurgery, renal failure, and spinal cord injuryTeam includes float pool nurses covering critical care and step-down unitsAll float pool nurses must obtain a CPI Blue Card from the Crisis Prevention Institute before startingCompletion of required pre-start training modules (average 4-8 hours, self-reported)No blocked or self-scheduling options availableHoliday coverage may be required per hospital policyLocals are accepted at the same rate with no radius restrictionsReturn staff must have been gone a minimum of one year to be eligibleRTO requests must be submitted upfront; no RTO permitted in first 2 weeks, and up to 7 days per 13-week contract is preferred\n \n Requirements\n
Active and valid CA RN license required and must be in hand at time of applicationCurrent ACLS and BLS certifications requiredAt least 2 years of recent critical care experience requiredExperience and proficiency in Epic charting requiredProficiency in dysrhythmia interpretation and management, multisystem organ failure, 12-lead EKG / ECG, central line and arterial line management, IV protocols, and advanced neuro / cardiac carePass a mandatory EKG exam (up to 3 attempts allowed)Two supervisor references from the past two years requiredFirst-time travelers are welcome\n Benefits\n
