Network Engineer

Job Description

The Role :

General Motors is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Network Engineer to join our dynamic IT team. This role is crucial for designing implementing and maintaining robust and secure network infrastructure ensuring seamless connectivity and optimal performance for our global operations.

What Youll Do (Responsibilities) :

• Design implement and configure advanced data networking solutions to support business requirements.
• Manage and maintain complex network infrastructure including routers switches firewalls and wireless access points.
• Implement and configure network security policies and procedures to protect against unauthorized access and cyber threats.
• Troubleshoot and resolve network-related issues including connectivity problems performance bottlenecks and security incidents.
• Monitor network performance and availability identifying and addressing potential issues proactively.
• Support and manage voice networks and VoIP solutions ensuring high-quality communication services.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate new systems and applications into the existing network infrastructure.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive network documentation including diagrams configurations and standard operating procedures.
• Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours support and critical incident response.
• Stay current with emerging network technologies and best practices to continually improve our network environment.
