The unit has 58 beds and employs over 60 staff members. The staffing consists of 2 charge nurses, 12 RNs, and 5 Patient Care Technicians on day and night shifts. Patient ratios are 5 : 1. The electronic medical record system used is Meditech. Candidates must possess strong time management skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Compassionate care and open communication are essential for success in this role. Team players with a positive attitude will fit well within the unit. The unit performs procedures such as chest tubes and central lines. Every other weekend availability is required. There is no on-call requirement.
