Pay Information

$2,506 per week

About The Position

Job Title : Seasonal Occupational Therapist

Profession : Occupational Therapist

Specialty : Client

Duration : 13 weeks

Shift : Monday - Friday

Hours per Shift : 8 hours

Experience : Minimum of one year of full-time acute care specific experience or two years of skilled nursing / inpatient rehabilitation facility experience or two years of acute care specific experience when working less than full-time hours.

License : Licensed Occupational Therapist

Certifications : Must provide proof of 2 hours of CVA specific continuing education within the recent four months.

Description :

The Seasonal Occupational Therapist is responsible for the implementation of the physician's order for Occupational Therapy services.

The Seasonal Occupational Therapist should provide all necessary aspects of Occupational Therapy within an interdisciplinary environment to facilitate the return of the patient to as independent and safe a lifestyle as possible.

The Seasonal Occupational Therapist must utilize a growth and development knowledge base in the care of pediatric, adolescent, and geriatric patients.

The Seasonal Occupational Therapist demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served.

The Seasonal Occupational Therapist also demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development.

The Seasonal Occupational Therapist possesses the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interprets the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to age-specific needs.

The Seasonal Occupational Therapist is responsible for providing the care needed.

The Seasonal Occupational Therapist is capable of performing patient evaluations using appropriate functional tests and measures.

The Seasonal Occupational Therapist demonstrates the ability to assimilate objective measures along with social factors, medical stability, activity restrictions, participation limitations, or other relative comorbidities to determine functional deficits.

The Seasonal Occupational Therapist constructs short-term goals, long-term goals, and patient / family goals with appropriate frequency and duration to establish the therapy diagnosis and appropriate plan of care.

The Seasonal Occupational Therapist demonstrates the ability to tolerate physically demanding tasks of moving equipment and patients utilizing safety measures for self and patients.

The Seasonal Occupational Therapist demonstrates proper and secure documentation in the Electronic Medical Record.

The Seasonal Occupational Therapist demonstrates critical thinking in patient evaluation and treatment planning.

The Seasonal Occupational Therapist understands the use of moist heat, paraffin, and other physical agent modalities as they apply to various areas of practice.

The Seasonal Occupational Therapist comprehends the cardiopulmonary, musculoskeletal, nervous, and integumentary systems, utilizing age-specific patient care indicators relative to each structure and system in the provision of care.

The Seasonal Occupational Therapist appropriately identifies the learning needs of patients or family members.

The Seasonal Occupational Therapist works as a team member to assist patients and families at all points of entry into the acute therapy care system along the continuum of care as appropriate.

The role requires interpreting and following physician's orders, cooperating with co-workers and leadership, being responsive to patient needs, and demonstrating initiative towards completion of treatment.

Physical demands include constant walking, balancing, standing, turning, reaching, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, handling, and hand and finger movements.

Frequent stooping, crouching, sitting, and occasional running, climbing, and kneeling are also required.

The ability to lift, handle, push, and pull up to 50 pounds is necessary.

The Seasonal Occupational Therapist must operate blood pressure machines, pulse oximetry, wheelchairs, walkers, and other pertinent assistive devices.
