Group Leader, 2 Cain Rd

Camp Fire North Shore is seeking enthusiastic and caring Group Leaders to join our after-school programs in Lynn. Group Leaders play a vital role in shaping the daily experiences of children in kindergarten through eighth grade by creating fun, safe, and engaging environments that promote learning and belonging.

Working under the guidance of a Site Coordinator, Group Leaders plan and implement activities that blend academic enrichment with creativity and play. Programs are designed to help students strengthen literacy, math, and problem-solving skills while building social-emotional skills, confidence, and curiosity. This is a school-year position with opportunities to continue employment at Camp Fire's Summer Day Camp.

Key Responsibilities

Plan and lead creative, hands-on activities in areas such as art, STEM, nature, music, literacy, and social-emotional learning.

Foster a positive, inclusive group environment where all children feel welcomed, respected, and encouraged to participate.

Support youth of varying abilities and needs, promoting belonging and positive behavior through relationship-based guidance.

Reinforce classroom learning through fun, project-based experiences

Maintain a safe, organized, and engaging program space that encourages exploration and creativity.

Observe and document children's progress, strengths, and needs; communicate regularly with the Site Coordinator.

Participate in staff meetings, ongoing training, and a minimum of 12 hours of annual professional development.

Obtain First Aid Certification within six months of hire (training provided).

Qualifications

Must be at least 18 years of age.

One of the following required :

Bachelor's or Associate's degree and at least 3 months' experience working with school-age children;

High school diploma or equivalent and 6 months' experience working with school-age children (including 3 months in a licensed program);

9 months' experience working with school-age children (including 3 months in a licensed program).
