Physician / California / Locum or Permanent / Pathologists' Assistant Job

An established hospital laboratory in Palm Springs, CA is actively seeking a Pathologists' Assistant to join its anatomic pathology department. This full-time, day-shift position offers a highly competitive hourly wage and the chance to work in a collaborative, fast-paced clinical setting with exposure to a broad range of surgical cases.

Location : On-site in Palm Springs, CA

Schedule : Full-Time Day Shift Monday Friday

Pay Range : $54.94 $83.06 per hour (based on experience and qualifications)

What You ll Do :

Perform gross dissection and description of complex surgical specimens

Assist with frozen sections and intraoperative consultations

Accession specimens and ensure appropriate sample handling and labeling

Maintain documentation and digital imaging of specimens as needed

Uphold laboratory safety, compliance, and infection control standards

Collaborate with pathologists, histotechnologists, and other lab staff to ensure timely processing

What You ll Need :

Master s degree from a NAACLS-accredited Pathologists Assistant program (required)

Certification as a Pathologists Assistant (ASCP PA) or eligibility

At least 1 year of relevant experience preferred (strong new grads considered)

Strong anatomical knowledge, attention to detail, and excellent documentation skills

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with high case volume
