We are looking for an experienced Director of Accounting to join our team on a long-term consulting basis. This role does require 3 days / week onsite in Menlo Park, California. In this strategic role, you will collaborate with key finance and business stakeholders to manage and operationalize complex accounting transactions. This position offers an opportunity to lead critical processes such as M& A due diligence, financial statement reviews, and month-end close activities. You must have a strong knowledge of technical accounting. Proficiency in Oracle Cloud is highly preferred. An active CPA license is preferred but not required. This role is expected to start promptly after a completed background check. Duration of the project will be 9 months.

Responsibilities :

Drive high-impact due diligence for mergers and acquisitions, delivering sharp analysis and insights that shape strategic decisions.

Work hand-in-hand with internal teams and external partners to bring complex, ad hoc transactions to life with speed and precision.

Build and maintain robust workpapers that clearly capture accounting positions, supporting confident conclusions.

Take ownership of reviewing journal entries, safeguarding compliance with U.S. accounting standards.

Play a key role in the month-end close, ensuring financial statements are accurate, complete, and ready for leadership review.

Jump into ad hoc projects and deliver value-added analysis and reporting that move the business forward.

Partner with stakeholders to demystify complex accounting matters, offering clear recommendations and strategic guidance.

Champion alignment with U.S. accounting standards and best practices across all financial operations.

Lead the charge in reviewing and managing third-party deliverables tied to specialized transactions, ensuring quality and consistency.

15+ years of accounting experience with deep technical expertise and comprehensive knowledge of US GAAP.

Proven M& A leader with hands-on experience in complex transactions and related accounting.

Strong financial operations background covering reporting, audits, and month-end close.

Tech-savvy with Oracle Cloud (or similar financial systems) experience.

Excellent communicator able to simplify complex concepts for diverse audiences.

Agile and driven professional who thrives in fast-paced, global environments while managing multiple priorities.
