Accounting Supervisor
The Accounting Supervisor oversees and manages the Orthopedic Centers of Colorado accounting department's operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in financial processes, while also supervising and mentoring accounting staff. This position reports to the Director of Finance.
Supervision and Leadership :
- Supervise and mentor accounting staff, including accountants, bookkeepers, and clerks.
- Assign tasks, monitor performance, and provide feedback.
- Lead and motivate the team to achieve goals and objectives.
- Conduct performance evaluations and appraisals.
Financial Operations :
Oversee daily accounting transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and bank reconciliations.Prepare and review financial statements and reports.Conduct financial analysis and provide insights to support decision-making.Manage month-end and year-end closing procedures.Participate in payroll processes.Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.Budgeting and Forecasting :
Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts.Monitor actual performance against budget and identify variances.Process Improvement :
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.Establish and maintain accounting policies and procedures.Communication and Collaboration :
Communicate financial information clearly and effectively to both internal and external stakeholders.Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth financial operations.Other duties as assignedRequired Qualifications and Skills :
Proven work experience as an Accounting SupervisorStrong written and oral communication; strong interpersonal skillsExcellent analytical and problem-solving skillsStrong leadership and supervisory skillsStrong computer skills, MS Excel in particular (managing spreadsheets, creating charts and using advanced formulas)Solid knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, laws and regulationsExcellent organizational skills and attention to detailSelf-motivated, takes initiative, can work independently and as part of a teamStrong orientation to deadline and detailAbility to work in a continuously changing environment, flexibleCuriosity and a passion for learningTeam management skills.Ability to prioritize work.Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related fieldAccounting certification (e.g., CPA, CMA) is a plusWorking knowledge of QuickBooks OnlineMedical experiencePay & Benefits :
