About the Position : Serves as a U.S. Army Medical Command (MEDCOM) Social Services Assistant in clinics or units providing assistance for the Family Advocacy Program.

Help
- Works under the supervision of a social worker Family Advocacy Program (FAP) supervisor who sets the overall objectives, resources, and decisions available.
- Collaborates with a licensed clinical social worker in recommending treatment plans and provides case management services to include ensuring that an approved treatment plan approved is carried out by the client.
- Interviews clients to provide information about the Family Advocacy Program (FAP) and the incident determination process.
- Coordinates services with the installation Victim Advocate for resources, emergency shelter information, protective orders, and other supportive services in spouse / intimate partner cases.

Applicants may be required to show proof of other immunizations depending on the type of position.This position is subject to annual seasonal influenza vaccinations. Specialized Experience : One year of specialized experience which includes experience in the field of child abuse and domestic abuse that required the application of program policy and operations knowledge in providing social welfare services and / or assisting social workers. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade / level position in the federal service (GS-7).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience aloneno substitution of education for experience is permitted.
You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas :
Time in Grade Requirement : Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-7).
Applicants must meet all eligibility requirements and minimum qualification requirements prescribed by OPM within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement.
