We are seeking a strategic Manager of Data Engineering and Observability to spearhead engineering initiatives focused on creating and managing tailored data solutions for our internal operational datasets. This role emphasizes the ingestion of operational, infrastructure, and security data into Snowflake, allowing Cox Automotive to elevate its observability, resilience, and intelligence.

Leadership & Strategy

Technical Oversight
Steer the design and implementation of scalable data ingestion pipelines and data modeling solutions.Ensure alignment with business objectives and architectural standards.Offer technical guidance during off-hours when engineering teams are active.Collaboration & Communication
Collaborate with stakeholders across IT, Security, Infrastructure, and Operations to comprehend data requirements and deliver impactful solutions.Articulate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences to advocate for the team's contributions and value.Business Impact

Bachelor's degree in a related discipline and 6 years of experience in a related field. Consideration will be given to candidates with a different combination, such as a master's degree and 4 years' experience; a Ph.D. and 1 year experience in a related field; or 18 years' experience in a related field.3+ years of leadership experience managing engineering teams.Experience with Snowflake and AWS in a data engineering context.Strong understanding of IT operational data systems and data modeling practices.Excellent planning, prioritization, and decision-making skills.Knowledge of AI implementation to support engineering practices and product roadmap.Preferred Qualifications :
Experience managing distributed or offshore teams and working across time zones.Demonstrated success in leading strategic data initiatives.Ability to balance technical expertise with people leadership.The salary for this position ranges from USD 119,600.00 to 199,400.00 annually. Compensation may vary based on the location of the role and the candidate's skills and experience. Additional compensation may include an incentive program.
