American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN Surgical ICU Stepdown for a travel nursing job in Lexington, Kentucky.

Job Description\n

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a PCU unit that also floats to ICU, requiring 2 years of ICU experience and strong trauma skills.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

  • Work in a PCU unit with frequent floating to ICU or other PCU units
  • Care for high-acuity patients including those in a Level 1 trauma setting
  • 36 or 48 hours per week contracts available
  • Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 19 : 00–07 : 30)
  • Orientation provided to other transitional units
  • RNs will float as needed to ICU and other PCU units
  • Rapid response experience expected for high acuity environments
  • May participate in orientation to other transitional units
  • References from two supervisors within the last three years of employment required for consideration
  • Certifications must be current and provided at the time of application

  • Active KY or compact RN license required
  • Minimum of 2 years recent ICU experience
  • At least 1 year of Level 1 trauma experience in a high-acuity PCU
  • Experience in PCU, Med / Surg, and Telemetry required
  • Certifications required : ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
  • Strong critical thinking skills and ability to respond rapidly to urgent patient needs
  • No first time travelers
  • Local candidates within 75 miles are not accepted
