Assistant Finance Division Manager
The Morris-Sussex Vicinage seeks a self-motivated, flexible, and results oriented individual to serve as the Assistant Finance Division Manager (Court Executive 1B). The individual should be committed to providing exceptional service and possess strong leadership, analytical, total quality management, and communication skills. Under the general direction of the Vicinage Finance Division Manager (Court Executive 2B), the selected candidate will assist in planning, directing, and evaluating the workflow of the Finance Division. The Assistant Finance Division Manager will possess strong technical competence, administration, and management skills to assist with the oversight and support of the Court Held Funds Unit, which processes fines, fees, restitution, child support, bail escrow and other court ordered payments.
Although this position is based in the Morris County Courthouse (Morristown, New Jersey) travel to the Sussex County Judicial Center (Newton, New Jersey) and other Judiciary locations is required. The Judiciary currently offers a hybrid work schedule, and this position may qualify for up to 2 days of remote work outside of Judiciary buildings. To participate in this program, in addition to installing a multifactor authentication app on your phone or tablet, you will be required to have high speed home internet access.
The Assistant Finance Division Manager will :
Education : Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree, including or supplemented by 21 credit hours in accounting, business administration, economics, public administration, and / or finance. Six of these credits must be in accounting.
Unofficial college or university transcript is required to be added to your employment application in order to be considered for this position. Experience : Three years of professional administrative experience, one of which shall have included experience in accounting, auditing, purchasing, budgeting, cash management, financial analysis, finance, and / or developing, implementing and analyzing financial procedures, systems and controls. Substitution : Applicants who do not possess the required education, but do possess the required 21 credit hours in accounting, business administration, economics, public administration, and / or finance (including six accounting credit hours), may substitute experience on a year-for-year basis. A master's degree may be substituted for one year of general experience as indicated above OR a CPA designation may be substituted for one year of general experience as indicated above. Degrees conferred outside of the United States must be evaluated by a recognized evaluation service.
Driver's License : Appointee will be required to possess a driver's license valid in New Jersey only if the operation of a vehicle is necessary to perform essential duties of the position. Authorization to Work : US citizenship is not required. Selected candidate must be authorized to work in the US according to Department of Homeland Security, US Citizenship and Immigration Services regulations. Special Note : Newly hired employees must agree to a thorough background check that will include fingerprinting. Residency Law : In accordance with N.J.S.A. 52 : 14-7 (L. 2011, Chapter 70), the "New Jersey First Act," all persons newly hired by the Judiciary within one year must establish, and then maintain, principal residence in the State of New Jersey. Any person may request an exemption from that requirement from the Employee Residency Review Committee in the Department of Labor & Workforce Development on the basis of either hardship or employer critical need.
