POSITION SUMMARY
The Marketing and Communications Manager will lead the development and execution of multi-channel integrated marketing and communications campaigns that support the organization’s contributed and earned revenue goals. This role will develop, and project manage Thinkery’s paid advertising, social media, and content calendar with support from the Marketing Coordinator and Content Coordinator, as well as collaborate with the Graphic Design Manager on management of Thinkery’s website. The Marketing and Communications Manager will supervise the Marketing Coordinator.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Create and implement strategy for multi-channel marketing campaigns and project manage from start to finish.
- Manage social media strategy and presence for Thinkery, including expanding audiences and reporting on analytics.
- Lead paid media strategy for Thinkery, including managing advertising budget and reporting on analytics.
- Develop and manage Thinkery’s content calendar, providing timely review and approvals on content created by the marketing and communications team
- Produce both long- and short-form copy for various audiences and platforms; including, but not limited to, emails, newsletters, blogs, one-pagers, signage, Thinkery’s website, and advertisements
- Partner with the Director of Marketing and Communications to develop and execute Thinkery’s annual integrated communications plan with a focus on earned, paid, and owned media strategies that support the organization's earned and contributed revenue goals.
- Ensure adherence to brand guidelines.
- Partner with Graphic Design Manager and Marketing Coordinator to support signage needs in and around Thinkery’s museum and learning spaces.
- Partner with Graphic Design Manager to manage Thinkery’s website, including optimizing content for SEO.
- Coordinate and manage relationships with external vendors.
- Deliver regular data-driven reports, suggesting actionable insights to refine promotional strategies.
- Builds relationships with the external community, representing Thinkery at community events and presenting about Thinkery’s programs at partner organizations.
- Supervise Marketing Coordinator.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES
- Days and hours of work are largely Monday through Friday during normal business hours. Periodic duties outside of the regular work week schedule during seasonal high-volume times.
- Actively practice Thinkery’s health and safety protocols.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Exceptional writing, editing, and communication skills
- Ability to manage complex projects and collaborate with team members at various levels of the organization
- Demonstrated knowledge of Canva, social media, WordPress, Google Analytics, and email marketing platforms
- Demonstrated ability to write effective and inspiring copy for website, one-pagers, emails, blogs, and/or newsletters in both English and Spanish
- Strong organizational skills and a demonstrated ability to meet deadlines, manage competing priorities, and work independently and as part of a team
EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:
- High School Diploma or GED Required; Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in a related field preferred.
- 3+ years of marketing and communications experience
- 1+ year of management experience preferred
- Ability to create bilingual (English/Spanish) written content is highly preferred

This position is largely stationary. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to:
- Observe and react to the needs of guests, staff, volunteers, donors, and community partners
- Move throughout the museum when on-site
- Occasionally manipulate and move office supplies and equipment components weighing up to 15 pounds, including those that may be low to the ground or above eye level
- Communicate and exchange accurate information with guests, staff, volunteers, donors, and community partners in a variety of formats including in-person, electronically, and over the phone
- Detect and respond to safety hazards
- Operate standard office equipment efficiently and accurately.
