Intern School Counselor Job Description ABOUT US Arts in Action Community Charter School opened in Fall 2011 with grades K-5.

The elementary program aims to provide a rigorous academic foundation while developing the whole child through a rich arts program, a daily socio-emotional learning component, and modeling advocacy through social justice initiatives.   Arts in Action Community Middle School opened in Fall 2016 and serves grades 6-8 students.

• This internship offers a valuable opportunity for aspiring school counselors to gain hands-on experience in a supportive, equity-focused, and arts-integrated educational environment.
• The Counselor Intern will work closely with the counseling team to provide social-emotional, behavioral, and academic support to students in both individual and group settings.
• The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to student wellness, be eager to learn, and demonstrate sensitivity to the diverse backgrounds of our school community.
• Under the supervision of the Director of Accessible Education, the School Counseling Intern will be responsible for tasks that support the academic success of all students and promote a positive learning environment in line with the school's values.
