PBS Body Shop is seeking a skilled and dedicated School Bus Body Repair Technician to join our team. We are committed to maintaining a safe and reliable fleet of school buses for our students, and we need your expertise to ensure our vehicles exceed DOT standards. Responsibilities :
- Perform comprehensive body repairs on school buses, ensuring all work meets or exceeds Department of Transportation (DOT) safety standards.
- Repair and replace structural components, including crossmembers, door bottoms, and side panels.
- Conduct thorough rust abatement, including removal, treatment, and prevention.
- Perform welding, fabrication, and metalworking as required.
- Inspect and assess damage to school bus bodies, providing accurate estimates for repairs.
- Maintain accurate records of all repairs performed.
- Utilize hand and power tools, welding equipment, and other specialized equipment safely and efficiently.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations.
- Collaborate with other maintenance staff to ensure timely completion of repairs.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications :
Proven experience as a body repair technician, preferably with experience in heavy-duty vehicles or buses.Strong knowledge of DOT safety standards and regulations.Proficiency in welding MIG and metal fabrication.Experience with rust abatement and corrosion prevention techniques.Ability to read and interpret estimates and SOP’sExcellent problem-solving and diagnostic skills.Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Valid driver's licenseHigh school diploma or equivalent (technical / vocational training preferred).Ability to lift heavy objects and work in various positions.Preferred Qualifications :
ASE certifications in body repair or related fields.Experience working with school buses or similar large vehicles.Benefits :
