Job Description: The Department of Chemistry at UTEP invites nominations and applications for a non-tenure Research Professor position in Materials/Energy Chemistry. The successful candidate will be expected to maintain a nationally visible research program and pursue external funding.
We seek a candidate whose expertise complements and enhance current departmental strengths, particularly in materials, energy, and catalysis. Candidates who can foster collaborative research within and beyond the department are highly encouraged to apply, as current funding trends favor interdisciplinary projects.
The new research faculty member will actively contribute to our PhD program in Chemistry, which has been established for over a decade. The new faculty will also support related doctoral programs in Environmental Science & Engineering (ESE) and Materials Science & Engineering (MaSE). Cross-program collaboration is common, with students working together in shared research groups that promote interdisciplinary learning.
Requirements: - A Ph.D. in Chemistry or a closely related field
- A record of recognized research excellence
- Postdoctoral experience
- A commitment to mentoring students and demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching.
- Qualifications commensurate with appointment at the rank of Research Professor.
