Job Summary :
The Customer Accounts Specialist supports the Revenue Cycle Management team by managing inbound patient billing inquiries, resolving outstanding balances, and ensuring accurate and compliant account documentation. This role requires expertise in medical billing, insurance verification, and interpretation of Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) while providing exceptional customer service and maintaining HIPAA compliance.
Key Responsibilities :
Professionally communicate with up to 50 patients daily via phone and email.
Resolve inquiries related to billing statements, payments, and account reconciliation.
Interpret and explain EOBs, remittance advice, and patient billing methodologies.
Apply working knowledge of Medicaid, Medicare, and commercial insurance processes.
Maintain accurate records and documentation of all collection and adjustment activities.
Submit adjustments, refunds, and hardship requests per established procedures.
Ensure timely account follow-up to meet productivity and quality targets.
Process credit card payments and assist with monthly closing procedures.
Identify and escalate recurring issues to management.
Comply with HIPAA guidelines and company privacy policies.
Required Experience :
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Minimum 1 year of experience in revenue cycle management, medical billing, or patient accounts.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to manage confidential patient information.
Nice-to-Have Experience :
Secondary education or medical certification (e.g., billing, coding, or administrative).
Experience in the healthcare or insurance industry.
Familiarity with CRM tools, analytics, and billing software.
