Technology Parts Specialist at Frisco ISD

Job Title : Technology Parts Specialist

Reports to : Technology Procurement Coordinator

Dept / School : Technology / Technology Annex Building

Work Year : 226 days

Base Salary : $41,000

Actual salary will be calculated based on experience.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily operations and activities of the Technology Part Store in accordance with procurement and safety guidelines. Work closely with Technology campus-based staff to facilitate Chromebook training, repairs and the demand for parts needed.
  • Manage, create, and maintain electronic record keeping of all technology parts in the Part Store inventory system. Communicate with vendors to secure quotes and parts needed. Excellent customer skills are key to this position.
  • Coordinate, process, and participate in the fulfillment of all parts requests from campuses districtwide and ensure the timely delivery of the parts.
  • Accurately process incoming shipments of parts including inspecting for damages, sorting, logging, and inventorying.
  • Assume responsibility for returning unsatisfactory shipments and coordinate with vendors all return merchandise authorizations (RMAs).
  • Ensure invoices for parts are electronically approved in Laserfiche.
  • Capture accurate records of all new technology parts and upload them into the inventory system part store.
  • Support campus staff to determine parts needed to repair Chromebooks.
  • Receive and repair broken Chromebooks from campuses districtwide.
  • Work and coordinate the recycling of Chromebooks based on the refresh, recycle, or repair status.
  • Work with Technology staff districtwide to accurately maintain inventory of all campus technology parts stores.
  • Lead special projects critical to Part Store support functions.
  • Assist in the maintenance of electronic records and databases.
  • Transport assets between campuses and the Frisco ISD Administration Annex.
  • Work and support Logistics Specialist and district tech support line.
  • Follow all rules, regulations, and policies of Frisco ISD and follow directives from superiors.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the District Technology Department.

Frisco ISD retains the right to adjust the responsibilities and assignments of all positions as needed to meet the needs of the District.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Some college preferred
  • Valid Texas driver's license
  • Knowledge of Chromebook models and hardware
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair Chromebooks
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work closely with department and campus staff
  • Ability to input, retrieve, and analyze data within Frisco ISD system applications
  • Ability to prioritize work, assume ownership, and willingness to take on responsibility and manage processes and deadlines
  • Willing to work in a team-oriented environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suites and Google Workspace

    Maintain emotional control under stress. Work with frequent interruptions. Regular sitting, standing, kneeling, squatting, bending / stooping, pushing / pulling, and twisting. Repetitive hand motion : frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; regular walking, grasping / squeezing, wrist flexion / extension, reaching; may climb ladders. Frequent moderate lifting (15-50 lbs.); occasional heavy lifting and carrying (over 50 lbs.).
