A Brief Overview

Assists underwriters by entering information into rating software, prepares accounts, reviews, and processes endorsements and / or handles renewal underwriting activity. May serve as quality assurance technician. Communicates with agents for missing information, signed documentation and clarification of various items on behalf of the underwriters.

What will you do?

• UNDERWRITING ACTIVITY : Identifies and / or reviews proper classification of risk, potentially entering the risk into the rating software. Examines and evaluates inspection reports, MVR's, loss data, audits, and other available information to determine degree of risk to make changes within authority level or recommendations to Underwriters. Reviews and processes requests for endorsements. Sets up and processes renewal policies. Communicates with Underwriters and Agents to provide quotes and instructions, obtain supplemental underwriting information and signed forms or provide assistance as needed.
• INFORMATION VERIFICATION : Requests updated information from agents such as driver's lists, stated values, building values, building ages, construction types, and other risk exposures. Reviews received information for inconsistencies in the data and makes changes within authority level or provides recommendations to the underwriter for changes. Identifies and / or reviews proper classification of risk and may enter risk into rating software.
• AGENCY COMMUNICATION : Communicates with agents and brokers via email or phone with information requests or verifications as necessary. May take inbound calls from agents requesting information on existing submissions and handles the agent request or routes the request on to the appropriate underwriter.

Education

High school diploma or GED and two years college or equivalent work experience.
