A healthcare facility in Oceanside, CA, is seeking a Pharmacist for a short-term contract opportunity lasting four weeks. Schedule:

• 2nd shift: 2:30 PM 11:00 PM
• Rotating weekends

Key Responsibilities:

• Dispense prescription medications accurately and efficiently.
• Monitor patient medication compliance and identify over-usage patterns.
• Ensure compliance with legal requirements concerning medication supply.
• Maintain confidential patient records and pharmacy files meticulously.
• Provide patient counseling on medication usage, potential side effects, and drug interactions.
• Offer additional patient services including smoking cessation support, blood pressure monitoring, and cholesterol management.
• Educate patients on proper use and maintenance of medical devices such as blood pressure monitors and glucose meters.
• Compound medications for internal and external use and prepare sterile solutions following protocols.
• Supervise pharmacy staff including technicians and clerks.
• Manage pharmaceutical and medical supply inventory effectively.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to resolve drug-related issues and improve patient outcomes.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Valid California pharmacist license (must be in-hand).
• Willingness to train retail pharmacists.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
