Mechanical Lab Technician with a Global Consumer Device Company in Cupertino, CA Seeking a hands-on technical professional to support our mechanical engineering team in a fast-paced lab environment. The ideal candidate brings strong technical aptitude, a problem-solving mindset, and a collaborative approach to day-to-day challenges. Key Responsibilities Drive and assist engineers with prototype fabrication and measurement tasks. Bring technical aptitude with hands-on fabrication experience. Must have solid understanding of lab safety practices. Proficiency with machining and measurement tools. Excellent organizational and time-management skills. Maintain lab organization and enforce safety protocols. Proactive, collaborative, and detail-oriented work style. Required Skills and Engineering Support Execute rapid prototyping and fabrication tasks using appropriate tools and equipment such as : (3D printers, CNC mills and Laser Cutters) Operate and maintain lab equipment, including drill presses, and precision measurement tools : (Calipers, Micrometers, Dial Indicators, and Gauge Blocks). Must have hands-on experience with the fabrication of Metals, Plastics, and Aluminum Materials. Experience with Bandsaws, Water Jets, Laser Scanner and Trackers a plus. Audit and manage inventory of lab equipment, assets and prototypes Manage equipment calibration, testing, maintenance, and inventory. Support shipping and receiving project components. Document procedures and maintain accurate technical records. Preferred Qualifications Experience operating CNC equipment. Familiarity with CMM or OMM machines. Ability to execute simple designs in 3D and 2D CAD : create solid models, review designs, and create and modify 2D drawings according to GD&T standards. Data analysis skills.
