Position Overview
The Oyster Bar is a guest-facing, high-energy position responsible for delivering an engaging and polished raw bar experience at Brass & The Tusk Bar. This role blends performance and precision — showcasing a passion for seafood, genuine hospitality, and a lively, conversational approach to service.
The ideal candidate thrives on guest interaction, understands the rhythm of a busy bar, and can shuck with confidence, style, and speed — all while maintaining the elevated service standards that define Brass & The Tusk Bar.
Key Responsibilities
Greet guests warmly and provide an engaging, informative oyster experience at the raw bar.
Confidently shuck oysters, prepare seafood towers, and execute shellfish presentations with speed, precision, and elegance.
Maintain deep knowledge of oyster varieties, provenance, flavor profiles, and proper pairings with wine, cocktails, and spirits.
Engage with guests about menu selections, sourcing stories, and the artistry behind the raw bar program.
Support bartenders and floor staff with seamless communication and team coordination.
Maintain pristine cleanliness and organization of the oyster station and adjacent bar area.
Ensure all products are stored, handled, and served according to health and safety standards.
Uphold the brand’s atmosphere of sophistication and fun — being both a storyteller and a showperson.
Qualifications
1–2 years of oyster shucking or raw bar experience preferred.
Strong communication skills and a naturally warm, engaging demeanor.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, guest-facing environment with grace under pressure.
Knowledge of wine, cocktails, and seafood pairings is a strong plus.
Must possess a valid Food Handler’s Certificate (or be willing to obtain).
