Job descriptionPosition is on a 45-bed Med / Surg unit in a hospital setting Patient population includes post-surgical, orthopedic, respiratory, gastrointestinal, and cardiac cases Night shift, 12-hour shifts from 6 : 30 pm to 7 : 00 am Patient ratio on nights typically 1 : 5-7 Every third weekend and every other holiday required Float required to other units within skillset and to nearby campuses within 8-11 miles, with 2-hour notice for cross-campus float Remote telemetry monitoring involved Uses Epic EMR; recent Epic experience required Responsibilities include managing a diverse patient population and performing advanced clinical skills as listed May be required to precept students and new hires in a teaching hospital environment Must wear navy blue scrubs without competing health system or agency logos Experienced and supportive team environment with charge nurse taking a full assignment on nights Job is not open to local candidates within a 40-mile radius COVID-19 vaccination is not required at this time, but this may change Three unscheduled call-ins may result in termination Active KY or compact RN license required Current AHA BLS and NIHSS certifications required Minimum two years of recent Med / Surg experience required At least one prior travel assignment required Recent experience with Epic EMR required Proficient with PIV insertion, chest tube and drain management, CBI, heparin and cardizem drips, PEG / NG tubes, ostomy care, blood product administration, and NIHSS / dysphagia screening Must have strong assessment and critical thinking skills Must live outside a 40-mile radius from the facility High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts
