Purpose :

Athene is seeking a strategic, financially fluent Financial Manager, Government Relations to join our Insurance Regulatory and Government Relations (GR) team. This role is instrumental in shaping how Athene engages with the evolving financial, accounting, and capital frameworks that govern the life insurance industry.

The successful candidate will bring a deep understanding of insurance finance, capital management, and investment regulation, applying this knowledge to assess the impact of proposed rules and policy shifts. You will synthesize complex financial and regulatory developments into actionable strategies, coordinate cross-functional input from accounting, actuarial, risk, finance, and investment teams, and represent Athene’s perspective before financial regulators, policymakers, and industry associations. This position uniquely combines technical financial expertise with public policy acumen, offering an opportunity to influence key regulatory outcomes while advancing Athene’s strategic objectives within a dynamic global financial environment.

Accountabilities :

Regulatory Analysis & Monitoring

• Track, analyze, and interpret financial regulatory developments related to life insurance risk-based capital, investment accounting, securities valuation, and structured securities at the NAIC.
• Assess business implications of proposed changes and provide actionable insights to leadership.
• Translate complex technical content into clear, strategic recommendations aligned with Athene’s objectives.

Qualifications and Experience :

$105,600.00 - $158,400.00 USD Annual

Annual Salary for this role is market competitive. Actual salary for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and / or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer. Depending on the role, a discretionary bonus plan or variable sales incentive may be included.
