Basic Job Functions :
The Roll Shop Mechanic will be a key contributor in maintaining and improving the performance and reliability of our Rolling Mill equipment. This role is hands-on, technical, requires a high level of organizational ability and is essential to keeping production running safely and efficiently.
The successful candidate will be responsible for preventative and corrective maintenance across a range of critical systems — including spindle carriers, loopers, Quench and Temper Line components, the Fast Finishing Block, Roughing Mill hubs, Finishing Mill stands, and Air / Oil systems. The successful candidate will also diagnose, repair, and align rotating and mechanical systems, assist with equipment rebuilds, installations, and reliability improvements, maintain accurate documentation of work performed and parts used, lead by example in safety, housekeeping, and teamwork. Working as part of the Roll Shop team, this individual will also collaborate closely with both the Rolling Mill and Maintenance teams to ensure equipment reliability and performance excellence.
This position requires strong mechanical aptitude, initiative, and a commitment to continuous learning and improvement. The ideal candidate thrives in a team environment but can also work independently to diagnose, plan, and execute maintenance activities with precision and efficiency.
