SUMMARY :
TANN Corporation is seeking a motivated Project Engineer Manager to join its growing team in Kaukauna, WI. The Project Manager is responsible for overseeing the successful execution of industrial air pollution control projects from planning through completion. This includes working closely with customers, engineers, contractors, and internal teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget—while maintaining TANN’s high standards for quality, service, and safety.
KEY DELIVERABLES (ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES) :
Responsible for all aspects of the project from beginning to completion :
Successful internal partnerships with the Designers, Purchasing Agents, Production Manager, Controls Engineer and Field Service Manager.
Maintain job costs within the project budget.
Establish and maintain the project schedule responsible for communication of the schedule with the customer, internally at TANN, with vendors and subcontractors.
Conduct engineering calculations for key components including media, poppet valves, fans, burners, and ducts.
Work with the Purchasing Department to complete Purchase Requisitions and Bill of Materials (BOM).
Attending all scheduled Production Meetings.
Partner and serve as the lead regarding partnering with Designers to complete the Design Drawings.
Work in conjunction with the Production Manager monitoring the fabrications for correctness, schedule and quality.
Provide excellent service and communication to ensure the customer is properly informed regarding all technical, schedule, and cost related issues.
Review and approve purchase orders and invoices.
Organize requirements for the installation and commissioning of TANN equipment, including site supervision as required.
Maintain a Low Risk Tolerance and High-Risk Awareness regarding Safety practices and procedures.
Demonstrate the initiative to take on increased responsibilities given by management.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE :
Required :
Bachelor’s degree in engineering (mechanical, electrical) is almost always required.
3–7 years of hands-on engineering work prior to taking on project management duties.
This position requires travel to meet with customers and contractors :
Must be able to travel 25% - 30% as needed for project requirements
There is a mix of domestic (U.S.) and occasional international travel assignments (Canada and Mexico).
Project Manager Experience :
Leading Projects : At least 2–5 years of experience managing engineering or technical projects (even if informally).
Project Lifecycle Knowledge : Familiarity with all project phases—initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closing.

Budget and Schedule Management :
Ability to perform the essential physical job functions / responsibilities of the position with high attention to detail in a timely, efficient manner.
Exercise independent judgement and initiative, with minimal direction.
Strong mathematics and analytical skills.
Communicate and work effectively with other departments and employees.
Working knowledge of airflow and sheet metal design, oxidizers and heat recovery equipment a plus.
Prioritize and work on multiple projects at one time in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to read, understand and work from blueprints, layouts, P&ID and other types of work orders / instructions.
Strong computer skills and be proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
Understanding safety practices and procedures and continually implement them in the workplace or while working remotely, maintaining a Low Risk Tolerance and High-Risk Awareness.
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical engineering, or a closely related field from a four-year accredited university, with coursework or project experience relevant to industrial manufacturing or environmental control systems, such as RTOs, is ideal for this role.
3+ years of experience in project management or industrial equipment installation preferred.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS :

Frequent exposure to dust, noise, and smells,
Employees must be in good general health with good mental focus, agility, balance, and vision (including close vision work, depth perception, and peripheral vision)
Pulling, pushing, reaching, climbing, kneeling, crawling, significant finger, hand manipulation, and standing for extended amounts of time.
Must be able to regularly lift and / or move up to 25-50 pounds, frequently lift and / or move items weighing 50-75 pounds with either teammate or mechanical assistance.
Position will involve exposure to heavy steel fabrication, welding, painting, and assembly environment.
May have exposure to all weather and temperature variations.
