Estimated Weekly Salary Weekly Salary Range : $1590 - $1700 per week (estimated) Med / Surg Neuro RN Job Details Location : Wilmington, NC (28401) – North Carolina nursing jobs Healthcare Setting : Neuro Medicine Unit (general medicine with neuro focus) Assignment Length : 13 weeks (option to extend up to 26 weeks) Start Date : November 10, 2025 Shift : Night shifts, 12 hours (18 : 45 – 07 : 15) Hours per Week : 36 or 48 (overtime after 48 hours for 48-hour weeks) Patient Ratio : 1 : 6 Weekend Requirement : 5-6 weekend shifts per contract (every other weekend) Float Requirement : Yes, travelers float first within the hospital or to affiliate hospitals Orientation : 24 hours Scrubs : Navy Blue Registered Nurse Qualifications Active North Carolina or Compact RN license (must be in hand by start date) Minimum 2 years of recent Med / Surg RN experience (neuro experience preferred) Current ACLS and BLS certifications required Must pass EKG testing prior to start Strong teamwork skills and commitment to patient safety Experience with Epic charting system preferred NIHSS certification preferred Willingness to float as needed within healthcare facility Ability to work 2 out of 3 major holidays if assignment overlaps holiday periods Must adhere to strict call-off and attendance policies Med / Surg Neuro RN Responsibilities Provide high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients with general medicine and neuro diagnoses Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including IV, PT, RT, and pharmacy Utilize Pyxis, EPIC, and SBAR for medication administration, documentation, and communication Perform and manage IVs, telemetry, dysrhythmia interpretation, and non-invasive airway management Maintain a safe, supportive environment for patients and staff Participate in unit orientation and ongoing clinical training Be prepared to serve as part of the Storm / Hurricane Team during catastrophic events Float to other nursing units as required based on census and skill set Wilmington, NC offers a unique blend of coastal living, historic sites, and a thriving arts scene—making it an ideal location for travel nurses seeking rewarding healthcare jobs.
