Fleet Maintenance Leader
At Hord Family Farms, our success relies on our people and processes. We're currently seeking a seasoned diesel mechanic with extensive experience in semi and large truck repair to oversee the maintenance and repair operations of our vehicle fleet. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of proven experience in fleet maintenance, strong leadership and team management skills, and an in-depth knowledge of vehicle systems and maintenance procedures. Candidates should be familiar with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices in fleet maintenance. Experience with regulatory compliance, such as DOT or OSHA requirements is highly desirable. Additionally, candidates must have strong organizational and problem-solving skills, strong communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.

A Day in the Life :
The Fleet Maintenance Leader plays a critical role in supporting the operational efficiency of the organization by ensuring that all vehicles are reliable and available for use at all times. This key supervisory position takes an in-house, hands-on approach to repairs and preventive maintenance for all Hord vehicles, ensuring work is completed by all fleet mechanics in a timely and efficient manner. Responsibilities include providing department leadership and oversight, inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining the mechanical and electrical systems of commercial trucks; including engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension, and electrical components to ensure vehicles are roadworthy and operating safely. This position requires a strong understanding of diesel engine technology and the ability to use specialized tools and diagnostic equipment. Those in this position must also effectively work with personnel across the farm to maximize quality and productivity. A Fleet Maintenance Leader must be willing to be available for an on-call rotation on weekends and evenings for emergencies.
