Job Summary
The Licensed Insurance Account Manager is responsible for the growth, development and maintenance of the Company’s clients (groups and brokers), as well as the retention and growth of their assigned territory. Prepares, presents and follows up on RFP’s with prospective groups. Ongoing responsibilities include, but are not limited to conducting implementation meetings, plan guides, open enrollment meetings, health fairs and Q & A and other informational meetings.
Essential Responsibilities
- Works with brokers to develop more business and responds to all broker’s requests including RFPs (Request for Proposals).
 - Identifies and solicits applicable groups for plan sign-up and participation / membership. Follows up on all RFP’s
 - Builds in depth positive relationships with existing accounts to ensure account retention by proactive service activity and overall service responsiveness. Seeks opportunities for account expansion / renewal process to develop referrals and elicit potential growth
 - Works with existing groups to resolve any and all issues and problems regarding plan participation and member issues.
 - Conducts initial and ongoing enrollment meetings, plan guide presentations, day to day servicing of groups & insurance brokers as well as health fairs, and other informational and Q&A meetings.
 - Personally services all groups over 20 employees to establish relationships with group stakeholders.
 - Facilitates renewal negotiations, expediting financial / utilization reporting and analysis. Works with Underwriter and Sales and Services management personnel to provide groups with renewal plan design & alternatives to ensure account retention.
 - Maintains current group files and reports significant changes or concerns.
 - Develops all required reporting in an accurate and timely manner and assists Enrollment / Accounting with needed information
 - Effectively growing and maintaining group participation in Company plans in assigned territory and efficiently and completely supporting the groups and group membership.
 - Resolving group / member issues, effectively addressing inquiries to the satisfaction of all parties.
 - Effectively working with team members across the enterprise to accomplish projects and performance goals.
 - Maintaining a high level of integrity and appropriate confidentiality in all activities and efforts.
 - Addresses and resolves a wide variety of basic to moderately complex group, member and broker issues and problems.
 - Supports improvements in processes, programs, productivity and services.
 - Performs any and all additional duties as requested and directed for this position.
 
Basic Qualifications
Experience
Minimum 3+ years of experience in sales, marketing, business development, and / or managing business to business relationships working with brokers in the insurance industryProficiency in regulations related to marketing, benefits, enrollment and other guidelines as governed by regulatory agencies.Education
Bachelor's degreeLicense, Certification, Registration
Accident and Health or Sickness LicensePreferred Qualifications
Bilingual (English / Spanish)Additional Requirements
Knowledge of sales and service operations in a dental plan member / provider environment.Knowledge of sales and service principles, HIPAA / PHI and other applicable regulations andrequirements in a healthcare setting.
Strong written and verbal communication skills and problem-solving techniques.Appropriate personal transportation is required (mileage is reimbursed).Travel throughout the West coast averaging 2-3 out of town overnights / month.Position Details
