Supportive Living Caregiver $19-20 / HR

Star Developmental Services is looking for charismatic people who are interested in mentoring individuals with developmental disabilities to navigate independence in their own homes. You will be a mentor who provides caregiving and companionship skillsassisting with daily life activities, while partaking in community-based outings that provide socialized interaction.

This is an ideal position for someone who enjoys engaging with others while not being constricted to a traditional work setting.

Available Position :

Part time

Saturday and Sunday

8 : 00 am- 4 : 00 pm

Qualifications :

• Minimum qualification is a high school diploma or GED
• Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities preferred
• Minimum of 18 years of age
• Clear background check and physical
• Willingness to complete a drug test
• California Drivers license and good driving history
• Willingness to assist people with personal care needs, public transportation training and transportation to community outings and activities

Job Description

Direct Support Staff assist with daily living skills, social activities; encourage friends and circles of support. Increase self-advocacy; assist with shopping, meal preparation, clean-up and laundry. Support Staff must demonstrate a high degree of understanding and commitment to the principles of supported living. They must understand and accept that supports will be molded to fit the participants needs.
