Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.

15 years of experience in program management with a focus on infrastructure or security.

Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree in Computer Engineering or Computer Science.

As a Technical Program Director of Product Security and Data Protection, you will be a strategic leader responsible for defining, driving and overseeing complex, cross‑functional programs critical to the security and privacy of our products and users. You will partner with engineering, product and other key stakeholders to ensure that our products are secure‑by‑default and compliant with regulations as we advance AI capabilities across Google’s product portfolio.

The Core team builds the technical foundation behind Google’s flagship products. We are owners and advocates for the underlying design elements, developer platforms, product components, and infrastructure at Google. These are the essential building blocks for excellent, safe, and coherent experiences for our users and drive the pace of innovation for every developer. We look across Google’s products to build central solutions, break down technical barriers and strengthen existing systems. As the Core team, we have a mandate and a unique opportunity to impact important technical decisions across the company.

Responsibilities

Define the strategic direction and roadmap for major data protection infrastructure and security programs, aligning with business objectives and long‑term technology vision. Lead the end‑to‑end lifecycle of complex programs, including defining scope, objectives, timelines, budgets, resource allocation and success metrics.

Foster strong relationships and effective collaboration across Engineering, Product and Legal to ensure program alignment and successful execution. Build and maintain strong relationships with senior leaders, business unit stakeholders and external vendors.

Lead and motivate a large, cross‑functional program team, fostering a collaborative and high‑performance environment.

Oversee the planning, execution and monitoring of all program activities, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets and quality standards.

Identify, assess and mitigate program risks and issues, proactively addressing roadblocks.

Compensation

The US base salary range for this full‑time position is $272,000–$383,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.
