ARMStaffing is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg / Telemetry for a travel nursing job in Wilmington, North Carolina.

Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical

Schedule

This position requires night shifts, working three 12-hour shifts from 18 : 45 to 07 : 15.

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Medical Surgical unit. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two years of experience, with preference given to those with neuro experience. This position encompasses the management of patients with diverse medical and surgical needs, focusing on neurological assessments and care.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients with medical surgical needs.
  • Conduct neurological assessments and implement appropriate nursing interventions.
  • Manage pre and post-neurosurgical patients effectively.
  • Administer medications including Heparin and Insulin and monitor patients' responses.
  • Perform cardiac monitoring and respond to emergency situations, including the management of dysrhythmias.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure quality patient care.
  • Adhere to infection control protocols and perform wound care as necessary.
  • Utilize charting systems such as Epic for accurate documentation of patient care.
  • Work in a fast-paced environment with a patient ratio of 1 : 6-7.

    • Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a medical surgical or neuro specialty.
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required; ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) and NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certifications preferred.
  • Ability to interpret and manage dysrhythmias effectively.
  • Experience with telemetry is a plus.
  • Must pass EKG testing prior to start for this specialty.
