What You Will Do
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the self-sustained Environmental Resources Training Center (ERTC).
- Develop strategic plans to secure external grants and projects through federal and state funding agencies, operator organizations, and academic institutions.
- Supervise staff, manage external grants and projects, and oversee capital improvements, including funding acquisition, engineering coordination, and contractor management.
- Coordinate, market, and recruit for ERTC training programs and teach pre-service and in-service students both at the center and statewide.
- Establish and enhance curriculum based on industry needs and set program fees accordingly.
- Collaborate with water and wastewater organizations in Illinois and Missouri to provide operator training.
- Serve as liaison to the School of Engineering, state and federal agencies (IEPA, USEPA, Dept. of Public Health, Missouri DNR), and educational institutions.
- Serve as the fiscal officer for the center, ensuring sound financial management and accountability.

Minimum Acceptable Qualifications
Bachelors Degree in Environmental, Civil, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Biology, Chemistry, Geology, or related field AND 5+ years of experience in water and waste water industryOR 10+ years of experience in water and waste water industryStrong knowledge of the water and wastewater industry, environmental laws and regulations, water chemistry, hydraulics, groundwater, surface water, aquatic ecology, wetlands ecology, soils science, and toxicology.Knowledge of accounting, budget preparation, personnel management, grant writing, grant management, and marketing.Must have the ability to translate complex technical, engineering, and scientific terms and concepts to clients and students of various backgrounds.Knowledge of drinking water and waste water certifications.Equal employment opportunity, including veterans and individuals with disabilities.
