Purpose of Position

Provides technical and programmatic support on behalf of OEB-IS to assist the operations of the OEB Finance team in the areas of billing, vendor self-billing, GASB, UT Benefits Billing, Cobra, and other areas of the Finance team as necessary.

Essential Functions

  • Review discrepancies between OEB Billing and UT Campus Enrollment Data, identify problems and propose solutions.
  • Review discrepancies between OEB Self Billing and UT Vendor data, identify problems and propose solutions.
  • Master UT Benefits Billing (UTBB) processing, identify areas for reconciliation improvement.
  • Work closely with the OEB-IS GASB Manager to resolve discrepancies between eligibility, TRS / ORP, and other data sources.
  • Partner with the OEB-IS Finance Manager to identify billing and finance opportunities for enhancement.
  • Partner with the OEB-IS Associate Director to better understand eligibility data flow and financial reporting.
  • Partner with OEB-IS team members to engage with UT campuses and vendors when as problems arise.
  • Partner with the OEB Director of Finance to better understand Finance priorities, concerns, and processes.
  • Code solutions as necessary in the languages and software mentioned below.
  • Learn new software tools as needed to resolve finance related issues.
  • Document, assist, and train other team members, campuses, and vendors on finance related issues.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Technically sound, with a knowledge of Natural mainframe, Peoplesoft, PowerBI, and similar languages and products.
  • A strong background and interest in financial reporting is desired, as is an ability to collaborate well with a team and clients.
  • Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree and 2 years of experience specializing in designing, installing, and maintaining system network infrastructure is required.
  • One year of college (30 semester hours) may be substituted for one year of the required experience on a year-for-year basis.
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree and 5 years of experience specializing in designing, installing, and maintaining system network infrastructure is required or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Additional Information

    The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to a minimum of 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length. Participation in TRS is mandatory.

    A background check will be conducted on candidates under final consideration. Background checks are conducted by third-party vendors.
