Senior Contract Specialist at SMX

SMX is seeking a skilled and driven Senior Contracts Specialist to support the EPOD / FLS Business Units. This role is responsible for managing the full lifecycle of Federal Civilian, State / Local, and Commercial contracts including drafting, reviewing, and negotiating agreements with customers and partners.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Administer Federal Civilian, State / Local and Commercial Agreements supporting the EPOD / FLS Business Units.
- Manage a portfolio of strategic Federal Civilian, State / Local and Commercial customer contracts and relationships.
- Review and analyze documents to determine contractual obligations and risks.
- Interprets contracts to ensure alignment with company objectives and policies.
- Develop, draft, and negotiate unique terms and conditions.
- Proactively identify opportunities to structure agreements that balance customer priorities with organizational goals.
- Create problem-solving approach to contract development.
- Ensure that contracts contain all appropriate terms and conditions.
- Monitor project end dates and manage any related renewals.
- Act as a liaison between organization and customers to support the management of Agreements.
- Support internal policies and procedures in the execution of contract administration duties.
- Willingness to establish, attend and actively participate in customer engagement.
- Review Request for Information and Solicitations and assist in the development of proposal responses.
- Assist in the management of contract proposal volumes.
- Utilize Deltek Costpoint contract management database and other repositories.
- Other projects assigned by the Contracts Manager and / or Director of Contracts.
Required Skills / Experience
Bachelor's Degree in related fields8-12 years of Federal Civilian, State / Local and Commercial contracts experienceAbility to interpret policies, contracts, and law / regulationsExcellent time management, communication, decision-making, and organization skillsMust be a Fast LearnerMust be flexible, adaptable and agileExperience with Federal Civilian, State / Local and Commercial business transactions and Cloud Service ProvidersEffective verbal and communication skills in a business environmentStrong background in contract formation, development, implementation, execution and administrationAbility to participate in cross-functional teamsMust have general business skills and Microsoft Office Suite programsManage multiple assignments and engagements concurrentlyAdvanced knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, terms, conditions, and policies governing contractsPossess strong analytical and problem-solving skillsDesired Skills / Experience
Experience in Deltek Costpoint and Unison is a plusThe proposed salary for this position is : $94,700—$126,200 USD
