Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med / Surg Tele position on a mixed acuity oncology unit with Epic and IV skills required.

Responsibilities

  • Work in a mixed acuity Med / Surg Tele unit caring for progressive care and medical-surgical oncology patients
  • Night shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts, 19 : 00-07 : 30
  • Day / night rotating shift option may be available
  • Patient ratio of 1 : 5
  • Floats required to units of equivalent or lower acuity
  • Uses EPIC for all charting
  • Oncology experience is preferred but not required
  • First week of orientation is Monday through Friday on day shift, followed by 36 hours of on-unit, precepted orientation
  • Self-scheduling is available, but schedules are finalized and posted after balancing requests
  • Must be willing to comply promptly with Ohio fingerprinting requirements
  • Former employees are eligible if separated from the facility for at least 6 months
  • Current employees are not eligible for hire as travelers at this facility
  • Locals are accepted at the same rate as travelers

    • Requirements

  • Active OH or compact RN license in hand at the time of consideration
  • Minimum 2 years RN experience in a hospital setting required
  • BCLS certification is required
  • Proficiency with IV starts, telemetry, and tracheostomy management
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Degree must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
  • Two professional references required, with at least one from a manager, director, or supervisor
  • Must provide all requested time-off / scheduling requests up front
  • Previous travel experience is preferred but not required
