JOB SUMMARY
This position will be responsible for supporting & maintaining electrical and control systems throughout the facility.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
- Controls Systems Technicians will be responsible for the following activities throughout the facility :
- Ensure that all machines electrical or control components are operational, including safety devices and safety systems are working properly.
- Provide support, troubleshooting, calibration, and preventive maintenance for all the controls and electrical systems housed in a cooler environment (30 to 34 degrees Fahrenheit).
- Conduct daily observations & inspections of all the systems. This includes following up and inquiring with each of the key Creekstone Operations personnel regarding each major Sub-System to collect their thoughts and observations regarding how everything is operating.
- Report to Creekstone Management any system that is not operating within the normal guidelines and receive direction on the required next steps to return the system to normal operations.
- Work with Creekstone Management to establish the timelines and priorities for any repairs or corrective actions that may be needed.

The ability to learn, understand, troubleshoot & support advanced control systems, which are highly computer-driven.The ability to learn, understand, troubleshoot & support the electrical systems made up of several parts :The mechanical system
The sensing and actuation devicesThe PLC control systems and the PLC software functionality (NOTE : No PLC Programming Experience is preferred.The ability to maintain and make recommendations to improve automated processes.The ability to work closely with several different engineering disciplines to effectively maintain and trouble shoot the new system (Mechanical, Electrical, Controls, Software).The ability to collaboratively problem-solve.Strong analytical skills to effectively and efficiently solve day to day problems.The ability to work safely at all times per Creekstone Safety Standards and Protocols.The ability to work at times without direct supervision.The ability and commitment to provide excellent & accurate communication to all stake holders.Basic to advanced understanding of the following;Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC’s)
Photo Eyes, Sensors and ScannersVariable Frequency Drives (VFD’s)Solenoids, cylinders, and airlinesHow PLC’s & Computer Systems control per each major sub-system to effectively troubleshootHow major PLC’s, Scanners, Smart Devices & Computers are connected in the Creekstone Ethernet NetworkBar Code Label Printers and ApplicatorsQualifications
3 to 5 years plant mechanical maintenance3 to 5 years plant electrical experienceTraining in vocational school, related on the job training experience, or an associate’s degree preferredProficient with Microsoft WindowsComputer hardware and software troubleshooting a plusPLC programming experienceAttention to detail.PHYSICAL DEMANDS :
This position includes physical work throughout the facility. When inside the facility appropriate PPE is required such as hard hat, steel toed boots, safety glasses, ear plugs, hair net and beard net if applicable. Varying temperature exposure is normal and moderate noise.Regularly required to stand, walk, sit, climb stairs, use both hands and arms to handle, feel, reach, push and pull.Must be able to lift and / or move up to 25-50 pounds frequently, and occasionally up to 100 pounds.Must be able to bend, stoop, climb ladders, access any device that needs serviced.Must be able to stand for extended periods of timeCreekstone Farms Premium Beef LLC is an Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Employer.
