About The Position

Summary :   The CVOR Technologist provides specialized technical support to surgeons and nurses during cardiovascular and thoracic surgical procedures. This role involves preparing and maintaining a sterile surgical environment, handling surgical instruments and equipment, and ensuring all supplies and devices are properly set up for complex heart and vascular operations. The CVOR Tech plays a critical role in supporting patient safety, surgical efficiency, and positive outcomes in the operating room.

Responsibilities :

• Prepare the operating room for cardiovascular and thoracic procedures, ensuring all instruments, equipment, and supplies are available and sterile.
• Assist the surgical team by passing instruments, sponges, and other sterile items during surgery.
• Maintain the sterile field and adhere strictly to aseptic and infection control practices.
• Operate and troubleshoot specialized cardiovascular equipment such as heart-lung machines, cell savers, and intra-aortic balloon pumps (as trained and credentialed).
• Collaborate with circulating nurses and perfusionists to ensure safe and efficient case flow.
