Night Shift Truck Yard Position
The shift for this position is a 12-hour night shift 2-week rotation. Week 1 is 3 days worked, 4 days off. Week 2 is 4 days worked, 3 days off.
Responsibilities :
- Move loads around the truck yard.
- Ability to back up trailers to dock doors, often with other trailers on either side of the dock
- Verify loads for accuracy
- Ensure trailer is in quality working condition prior to relocating
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections on vehicle.
- Ensure load matches paperwork before leaving all sites.
- Safe and legal operation of a commercial vehicle.
- Various other duties and tasks as assigned.
- May perform activities related to load planning of outbound trucks to meet customer delivery requirements and cost parameters.
- Utilize material handling equipment including forklifts, hand trucks, skids, etc. to stage materials and load trucks.
- Verify product against shipping documents and authorizations, pack product for shipment according to specifications.
- Prepare bills of lading, post weight and shipping charges in appropriate systems.
- Maintain inventory levels of supplies such as cartons, tape and other packing material.
- Apply knowledge of department policies and procedures to resolve customer and operational concerns / issues as needed.
- Effectively communicate with customers, suppliers, customer service, and production.
- Build and maintain positive relationships within each service area / department; coordinating and utilizing resources to ensure all products are handled, stored and shipped according to established guidelines, at the lowest possible cost.
- Work closely with management staff to understand and assist with implementing action plans to achieve department objectives and improve efficiencies.
- Assist management with departmental activities, training, safety and special projects.
- Read, understand and comply with relevant federal, state, local and company safety regulations and policies (e.g., OSHA, Personal Protective Equipment, Safety Shoes, etc.)
- Reinforce safety training and safe work practices; participate in safety meetings.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Follow Company recommended techniques for lifting, stacking, manipulating and handling materials and operating Powered Industrial Vehicles.
- Assist with performing ancillary duties related to Production Expediting, coordinating the movement of materials throughout the facility.
- Receive raw materials, components or equipment unloaded from trucks.
- Verify incoming materials against bills of lading, packing slips, etc.
- Maintain records of good received and damaged goods.

Plant facility runs 24 hours a day, 7 days a week consistently, excluding designated holidays or prearranged shut down.Ability to be on feet consistently up to a 12 hours per scheduled shiftSchedule is a 2-week rotation. Week 1 is 3 days worked. Week 2 is 4 days worked.Schedule hours is 6 : 50pm to 7am.Ability to lift to 55 lbs. overhead loading product onto trailersAbility to get on and off company equipment, forklift, to load and unload assigned trailers and move product throughout production site.Ability to walk, stand, crouch and climb to perform dutiesUse of hands and fingers to perform job functionWhile performing the duties of this job, the individual is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles and outside weather conditionsThe noise level in the work environment is usually loud.The work environment can be very hot, over 90 degrees.Vision : 20 / 20 corrected and normal hearing rangeAbility to wear company required personal protective equipment; safety glasses, hardhat, earplugs, gloves, and any other necessary item based on assigned task.The pay rate for this position is $22.55 per hour.
