Staff Educator / Infection Control Nurse RN

A nursing home is seeking a talented and hardworking Staff Educator / Infection Control Nurse RN to join our ever-growing team.

Staff Development Coordinator / Staff Educator Job Description :

• Plan, organize, and implement skills training programs / in-services for clinical staff and other departments; Perform orientation classes
• Develop educational strategies to facilitate quality improvement efforts
• Coordinate with and utilize community resources in meeting educational and staffing needs
• Oversee the process for competency evaluation of new employees
• Recommend progression to permanent employment or extension of orientation / probationary period for new employees
• Work closely with HR regarding hiring process and new employee files.
• Serves as designated associate responsible for monitoring Public Health Advisories from local, state, and federal agencies including the CDC
• Serves as the on-site IPC for COVID-19 prevention and response activities, in accordance with current CDC recommendations
• Maintains a current knowledge of infection control trends, methodologies, and employee health practices
• Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action
• Must have the ability to implement and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures of the Infection Prevention and Control Program
• Maintains professional working relationships with all associates, vendors, etc.
• Maintains confidentiality of all proprietary and / or confidential information
