Michigan State University in collaboration with McLaren Greater Lansing and Karmanos Cancer Institute is recruiting a

Hematology / Oncology

physician in Lansing, Michigan.  Join a team of five board certified Hematologists Oncologists at McLaren Greater Lansing / Karmanos Cancer Network’s new hospital campus adjacent to Michigan State University’s campus.  This position is an academic-based practice with Karmanos, serving as faculty to McLaren / MSU Hematology-Oncology fellowship program which graduates three fellows per year.  On-site support includes clinical pharmacists, lab, clinical trial coordinators, certified genetic counselors, nurse navigators, social workers and financial navigators.  Qualified candidates will be BE / BC.

This opportunity will include participation in education of medical students at Michigan State University’s College of Human Medicine, rotating Internal Medicine residents, and

hematology / oncology

fellows. The candidate is expected to participate in clinical trials. As a founding member of the NSABP and a member of SWOG, MSU has an expanding community based medical school, and growing

hematology / oncology

clinical and translational research division. Our active clinical trials program includes cooperative group, industry supported and investigator-initiated trials with our Karmanos partners.

The Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute is one of 52 NCI designated sites in the US for Cancer Care.  Headquartered in Detroit, Michigan with 16 network sites providing a footprint which covers 46 of Michigan's 83 counties with a catchment area of 6.7 million people.

Facility Highlights

McLaren Greater Lansing built a new health care campus in Lansing, adjacent to Michigan State University. Together, McLaren and MSU are redesigning the traditional hospital and ambulatory care settings to build the safest, most efficient health care campus in the world. McLaren and MSU are also expanding partnerships on research, education, and clinical services. The campus houses a 240-bed state-of-the-art hospital, cancer center, ambulatory, and other facilities to support health care delivery, educational opportunities, and medical research. When fully complete, this comprehensive health care campus will be home to over 1,000 physicians, researchers, educators, and other members of the academic and medical team.

McLaren Greater Lansing’s new medical center is home to cardiac programs; state-of-the-art clinical centers for oncology and women and children’s health; medical / surgical units; and a full-service pharmacy. Its residency programs are affiliated with Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine, Michigan State University College of Human Medicine, and the Statewide Campus System. Residencies include family medicine, internal medicine, general surgery,

obstetric / gynecological

surgery, orthopedic surgery, and physical medicine and rehabilitation. Fellowships are offered in cardiology,

hematology / oncology,

and sports medicine. McLaren Greater Lansing also participates in a citywide emergency medicine residency program.
